Ravan is GOING GREEN! Windochine, Ravan’s newest textile line is committed to promoting sustainable development. Their products are created using only natural fibers from indigenous renewable sources such as bamboo and various grasses. The textiles are one of a kind hand loomed fabrics that combine organic materials and traditional weaving techniques. Each unique textile has a contemporary aesthetic that creates a sophisticated appeal for a wide variety of applications. Complimenting the bamboo materials are gauze like natural fibers woven from banana, palm and pineapple. These renewable resources are locally sourced and transformed into fabrics valued for their unique quality, texture, luster, utility and resilience.

WINDOCHINE’S signature design is ‘Bamboo Silk’, an ultra thin, sheer open weave bamboo scrim crafted in an entirely hand woven process. Choice bamboo is split to almost hair like fineness, which the weaver then meticulously looms into a completed design. The material is then lacquered, using natural tree sap to create a translucent one of a kind lustrous finish. The ‘Bamboo Silk’ has been honored by the material conneXion in New York and Milan for excellence in material development and is included in its world renowned library of unique materials.
